Mwanza in pictures

Pictures tell a thousand words...
so less typing and more pictures this entry!

On Thursday I had a chance to tour the campus with Charles, who is the lead on this project in Mwanza. VETA Mwanza was built back in the 1970’s and much of the equipment for the shops was donated by the Swedish government in 1977. Unfortunately, there has been few major updates since that time. The buildings and the machines are still much the same. It is a testament to the industry of the college that they have managed to keep so many of the machines in working order, but it is also an indication of just how challenging it is for the college to keep up to innovations in the industry.

Break time!

Warden's House

On Good Friday, Charles came by in his old Toyota to take us on a tour of Mwanza. Mwanza is known as the "rock city". Sometimes people build their houses right on top of the rocks. The city rolls up and down through the hills and so it doesn't feel like a city of 2.7 million.  Here’s a few pictures
